It’s set to be a Game Changer at Newbury

Philip Hobbs’ improving runner can rise to the challenge of handicapper

-

I’M A GAME CHANGER can bring up his hat-trick in Newbury’s Be Wiser Insurance Handicap Hurdle.

Philip Hobbs’ runner has really hit his stride over obstacles now, winning two of his four starts this term and looking as though he has not finished improving yet.

Out of luck on his first two attempts, I’m A Game Changer hit the mark at Bangor in January, coming home seven lengths clear.

He was a similarly wide-margin winner at Ludlow last time too, with the 11-length second Dino Velvet having subsequently run a fair race when pitched into the Fred Winter at the Festival.

I’m A Game Changer has been hiked 12lb for that win but he can rise to the challenge.

REIGNING SUPREME is the choice in the opening Be Wiser Insurance Novices’ Hurdle.

He let down favourite-backers at Leicester at the beginning of February, trailing home last of four runners.

However, the heavy ground that day may well have been against him as he had shaped with much more promise when winning what was a moderate event at Newbury back in November.

The first two were well clear that day and while Reigning Supreme looks all over a future chaser, he should be good enough to get back on the winning path here.

MISTER KIT turned in a great effort over hurdles last time and should be followed as he switches to fences in the Boogie In The Morning Novices’ Chase at Musselburgh.

He has finished behind Project Bluebook and Ozzie The Oscar on his two most recent outings and given that pair’s fantastic Festival runs, the form has a pleasing look about it now. SELECTIONS: MUSSELBURGH: 2.10 John Williams, 2.45 Important Moment, 3.20 Mister Kit, 3.50 Pekanheim, 4.25 Life Knowledge, 4.55 Bollin Julie, 5.25 Drums Of War.

NEWBURY: 2.00 Reigning Supreme, 2.30 Global Dream, 3.05 Malapie, 3.40 Vinnie Red, 4.10 I’M A GAME CHANGER (NAP), 4.45 Man Of Steel.

DOUBLE: I’m A Game Changer and Mister Kit.
