Coetzer will captain Scots again

Kyle Coetzer is to resume as Scotland’s permanent captain.

Coetzer, who led the country in an interim role during the January tour to the United Arab Emirates, will take over long term for the second time in his career.

The batsman, scorer of his country’s first World Cup century, said: “It’s a great honour to lead this group of players for the second time. We’ve got a real depth in the squad, and it’s the start of an exciting era. I’m fortunate enough to inherit a settled squad and look forward to see them develop to the next level.”

Kyle Coetzer has been named captain.
