Flowers and Flyers by Maya Lawie

With spring almost sprung, artist Maya’s colourful representations of dragonflies, flowers, butterflies, moths and trees are perfectly in tune with the season.

Tomorrow, she will be celebrating her son’s 11th birthday and has extended a welcome to enjoy a special afternoon tea.

Maya hails from a Sri Lankan/Anglo background and this is highlighted in her work.

Starting working life as a nurse, then working at Cambridge Arts Theatre, she found her art niche in 2010 after attending art classes at Lancaster College.

In 2015 she became a member of Green Door artists’ community and Carnoustie Arts Society.

She’s resident at The Bothy Studio in the town.
