Three jailed for violent assault
Three men have been jailed for their part in an assault on a man in Burntisland last year.
At the High Court in Edinburgh, Christopher Martin, 27, Dean Walls, 31, and Craig Robertson, 37, pleaded guilty to assault to severe injury.
The appearances related to an incident last June, when a 42-year-old man sustained serious and permanent injuries to the head and body.
Martin was given five years and seven months in prison, Walls received six years and Robertson was sentenced to six years eight months.
Detective Sergeant Craig Fraser of Kirkcaldy CID welcomed the sentences handed down.
“This was a particularly violent attack and if it wasn’t for the first aid given to the victim by neighbours then I believe that he wouldn’t have survived,” he said.
