Struggling ski centres pin hopes on spring fall

-

Scotland’s snowsports centres faced a “challenging winter,” the head of the body that markets the country’s five ski centres has admitted.

The ski centres have suffered one of their worst seasons, with operators warning “millions of pounds” have been lost to the economy.

Ahead of Ski Scotland’s Snow Fest, Heather Negus, chairwoman of Ski Scotland, said the season could be saved with skiing into May if the right dumps of snow fall.

She said: “Remember, we usually expect to ski well into May and that in previous years which had this sort of weather pattern there have often been large dumps of snow well into the spring.”
