It’s ‘déja vu’ for award-winning Glenrothes pharmacy!
AGlenrothes-based community pharmacy, which
received two glowing accolades at last year’s highly-esteemed Scottish Pharmacist Awards, recently found itself centre stage again as pharmacist, Bernadette Brown, and her team from Cadham Pharmacy picked up the coveted Pharmacy Business Development Award, which was sponsored by Actavis UK!
Over the past three years, Bernadette and her team have carried out a major overhaul of every aspect of the pharmacy and it was this commitment – and investment - that most impressed the judges.
‘Bernadette,’ they said, ‘has created a really professional and clinical environment in the pharmacy. Her work is an absolutely positive testimonial to what a community pharmacy can achieve.’ Well done to Bernadette and everyone at the pharmacy!
More than 450 professionals gathered at Edinburgh’s International Conference Centre for the profession’s leading awards ceremony, which recognises the contribution of Scotland’s pharmacy champions.
Once again this year, a huge number of entries were received from every Health Board in Scotland across all nine categories: Pharmacist of the Future; eHealth & Innovation; Pharmacy Team Member of the Year; Independent Prescriber of the Year; Pharmacy Business Development; Pharmacist of the Year; Management of LongTerm Conditions; Community Pharmacy Team of the Year and Hospital Pharmacy Team of the Year.
The evening ended with the presentation of a Merit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Pharmacy to Alex MacKinnon, who is currently Interim CEO of Royal Pharmaceutical Society Scotland.
