Scottish singer-songwriter John Goldie has been described as a one man jazz band, which goes just a little way to describe this remarkable musician’s ability to combine bass, chords, melody and groove together with apparent ease, thrilling audiences worldwide.

A world class acoustic guitarist, incorporat­ing a wide range of influences including jazz, blues, Celtic and funk, he brings all of that, plus his stories of touring with Martin Taylor and as part of the Spirit of DJango.

Dundee promoters Make That A Take present another great night of hardcore punk and rock ‘n’ roll on Monday night at Conroy’s Basement.

Featuring Slovakian solo artist Dasa Fon Flasa, it’s a one-man anarcho experience full of hard rocking, hard travelling, hard living stories from a life lived in service of truth, justice and freedom of expression. A raw treat of a Monday night in Dundee for sure.

Support on the night comes from MTAT roaster-in-chief, Tragical History Tour who returns from his UK Tour in support of brand new single Come On Home, Hero. This is the last show of the UK tour so make sure you grab a limitededi­tion flexi 7in single.

Also appearing are Haystack Monolith, one half of homegrown radical experiment­al noise-poppers St. Kilda Mailboat, and The Cairngorms Young Team, bringing caustic nu folk from the whisky-soaked Dundeebase­d singer-songwriter .

Doors open at 7pm and advance tickets are £5, £6 on the door.

Number 57 has it’s weekly acoustic session tonight at 9pm.

Phazed welcomes DJ Deece to the Reading Rooms tonight, having first become aware of him in 2010 as one half of Two Charming Men.

Deece is no stranger to the DJ booth – he has made a huge name for himself playing in Dublin for more than seven years and the invitation to Dundee has been a long time coming. Support comes from residents Teddy Hannan and Correlate, as well as Pathew.
