Man in court after Tesco incident
Police were called following a disturbance at a Tesco store and neighbouring streets in the centre of Dunfermline on Friday afternoon, it has emerged.
The incident resulted in an appearance from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court for Alexander Robinson.
Robinson, 26, whose address was given as Golfdrum Street, Dunfermline, admitted that on April 21 at the Tesco supermarket in Bruce Street and in the Glen Bridge area he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing and acting in an aggressive manner.
Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said the incident occurred at 3pm when Robinson and his partner were seen in the store, going to a machine that converts loose change into notes.
“It appears there was some loose change at the machine and they helped themselves to it,” the depute told the court.
“They were then told they couldn’t just help themselves to money like that by security staff.”
Robinson is then said to have become angry and started shouting and swearing at the supermarket workers.
The court heard that he then refused to calm down before eventually leaving the scene.
Police officers were contacted and when they spoke to Robinson he denied anything had happened and swore at them.
Sheriff Pino Di Emidio called for background reports and Robinson is expected to be sentenced on May 24.
