Trump’s conviction remains absolute

-

In a series of seismic political shocks over the last few years, there was none greater than the election of Donald Trump as leader of the free world. Widely lampooned in the media, ‘the Donald’ has nevertheless risen to the highest office in the States and is arguably now the most powerful man on the planet.

Now, 100 days into his leadership, political observers are beginning to reflect on the early weeks of his presidency.

Many will argue we now live in a far more dangerous world following his coronation.

A nuclear conflagration may well be closer than ever, with the stand-off between the States and North Korea increasingly tense.

Others will question the way Trump conducts himself. Not many global leaders are quite so active — or outspoken — on social media. The President has made numerous proclamations, and issued a fair few threats, through the medium of Twitter.

His confrontational, bombastic style is certainly not to everyone’s taste but 100 days of power has apparently done nothing to change Trump’s style.

One of his most remarkable traits in his utter conviction and refusal to back down. In politics they can be truly admirable qualities. However, even the most powerful man in the world can make mistakes. Realising that fact and learning from them is the real challenge.
