Missing Methil woman found safe and well after appeal

A Fife woman missing since Tuesday has been found.

Police have confirmed Levenmouth woman Margaret Thomson was located in Fife on Wednesday.

The 61-year-old had not been in touch with family since Tuesday morning.

Officers have thanked the public for their assistance after an appeal to help find Mrs Thomson was shared scores of times on social media.

The appeal was not related to a search of woodland around Ladybank on Wednesday night when a helicopter and a dog handling unit were scrambled to find another missing person.

Police confirmed at 8pm the adult was found safe.
