Anger at proposed flight paths over kingdom

-

Airport chiefs in Edinburgh have been slated by Fife householders over proposed new flight paths.

One Dalgety Bay resident said his peace will be shattered by aircraft noise every day of the year, compared with the 69 days he is exposed to today.

Alex Rowley, Labour’s Fife MSP, said the consultation has been “severely flawed”, as he called on ministers to step in. Transport minister Humza Yousaf said the airport should go back to residents, but added the application is for the Civil Aviation Authority to decide.

An Edinburgh Airport spokesman said the deadline has been extended to May 7, adding: “We will continue to listen to our neighbouring communities, including people in Fife.”
