Fingask Follies

Fingask Castle, April 28-30 and various dates in May

- caroline lindsay

The Fingask Follies open tonight at Fingask Castle. The Follies began performing at the Perthshire venue in 1996 when owner Andrew Thriepland decided it would be fun to reinstate his ancestors’ tradition of drawing room entertainment.

Each year he and his wife Helen Molchanoff, a professional director, produce an original revue. Their shows have the same format: four professional singers, two actors and a piano but a different title, theme and content which are conceived annually at Fingask Castle.

They are celebrating their 21st birthday with Second Helpings!, a professional musical revue with a company of young performers exploring the fun to be found in excess.

The Follies is a full evening’s entertainment, beginning with drinks in the garden, then the musical revue in the Castle’s Long Gallery.

Dinner in the interval can either be in the Castle or your own picnic eaten in the Pavilion.
