R&A SPRING MEETING
The best net scores at the R&A Spring meeting yesterday were a brace of 67s returned by 63-year-old Donald Coid (16, Cottesloe, Western Australia) and 57-year-old Stuart Graham (6, Panmure). Don Coid’s was the better score in count-back over the last nine holes while Stuart Graham’s 73 was the lowest gross of the day.
Marian Thannhäuser, from Hamburg, playing late in the morning with Stuart Duncan (from Sao Paulo) and Tim Smartt (from Rye), returned a net 73 (10), putting her above Margaret MacNaughtan in the women’s competition standings.
Claire Dowling, the winner at last year’s Spring Meeting, will play today.
