McIntyre keen to hold on to in-form striker Boyce

-

Ross County manager Jim McIntyre said they are not looking to sell in-form striker Liam Boyce this summer.

Boyce took his tally for the season to 21 when he hit all four goals in County’s Highland derby victory over Inverness last Friday.

The 26-year-old has another season left on his contract but his Northern Ireland manager, Michael O’Neill, this week stated there had been a “huge amount of interest in him in Scotland and in England”.

McIntyre said: “We are delighted with what he is doing here and we want him to stay as long as he possibly can.

“Liam has been fantastic this season and he will be the first to salute his team-mates as well. I thought Craig Curran the other night was fantastic also beside Liam and back to his best, and had a major part in what Liam was doing.”

County will have to do without the suspended Boyce when they face Motherwell.

Victory at Fir Park would take them seven points clear of the relegation play-off place and McIntyre is keen to keep looking up the way.

“We just want to make sure we keep our unbeaten run going,” he said. “That’s four unbeaten and we want to try to finish the season as strong as we can.

“We want to try to be the best of the rest and not get dragged into a play-off position.”
