Budget car-maker Dacia to launch another new model

Since it first launched the Duster SUV back in 2012, Renault’s budget arm Dacia has gone from strength to strength.

The Duster won the coveted Scottish Car of the Year award and established the brand north of the border.

The formula of creating simple cars with proven technology that are decent to drive and cost thousands less than rivals has become a winning one.

Now Dacia is launching another new model. The Logan MCV Stepway is a jacked-up estate car with off-road looks.

Based on the Logan MCV estate car, it’s had its ground clearance increased by 50mm to 174mm and it gets a twotone bumper with a chrome skid plate, as well as fog lights and LED daytime running lights.

The car’s grille is reminiscent of Dacia’s small SUV, the Sandero Stepway, as are the metal door mirrors and roof bars.

The Logan MCV Stepway comes with rear parking sensors and hill start assist, while a reversing camera is available as an option. Higher spec models will get climate control, a multimedia system, rear parking sensors and cruise control with a speed limiter.

It still benefits from the large 573-litre boot of the standard Logan – which is one of the largest in the segment.

Dacia is renowned for being a budget car company and this doesn’t change with the Logan MCV Stepway, with prices starting at just £11,495.

Even the top of the range available for only £13,095.

Powering the MCV Stepway is a choice of a TCe 90 petrol engine and a dCi 90 diesel engine.

The petrol engine produces CO2 emissions of 115g/km, fuel economy of 55.4mpg and can go from 0-62mph in 12.4 seconds. The diesel option produces 100g/km of CO2, returns 72.4 mpg and has a 0-60mph time of 13 seconds.

The Logan MCV Stepway is available to order now and will go on sale from next month. model is
