Dods makes point about what it takes to make play-offs

-

There are several scenarios which will see Brechin City make the play-offs.

The simplest one is to take something from their trip to Stenhousemuir this afternoon.

The Glebe Park side sit fourth, on the same points and goal difference as third-placed Airdrieonians and three above East Fife and Queen’s Park, as they go into the final day of the season.

Only a draw is required to assure them of a place in the promotion play-offs.

Manager Darren Dods said: “There are other results that could go our way.

“But as long as point, we’ll be fine.

“We don’t have to worry about anybody else at the moment and the twists and turns that could happen,” he added. we get a

“We’ll just be concentrating on ourselves.

“The players have done really well to get into this position and we don’t want to come up short at the very end.”

He added: “This time last year we were going into the final game needing to win to avoid the relegation play-offs, and 12 months on we’re looking for a result to get into the promotion play-offs.

“It’s going to be really hard against Stenhousemuir.

“They’re fighting for their lives. They’re also on a great run and full of confidence.”

He added: “It makes it more difficult for us, too, because Stenhousemuir know they probably have to win to stay off the bottom spot.

“I’m really proud of how the team’s done this year. Last season we struggled but turned it around in the end. To get in the play-offs this year would be a great achievement and show the progression the team has made.”

Dougie Hill, Graeme Smith and Finn Graham are all available.

Gareth Rodger and Darren McCormack are out.
