“He was an avid member of the Lone Sharks Scooter Club and was coming home from a great weekend at his first scooter rally of the year when he tragically lost his life.”

Members of scooter clubs from across the UK and as far afield as Canada took to social media to offer their condolences.

The family added: “We are grateful for all the kind messages and support we have received at this very difficult time and wish to be left in private to mourn our loss”

Lone Sharks president Steven “Dickie” Stewart had known Mr Bousie, who was a driver for Leuchars-based Williamsons Taxis, since childhood.

“Stuart was probably one of the best known guys in the club. He attended most of the rallies and events,” he said.
