Standing Stane Road gets major upgrade as £250,000 works start
Diversions will be in place this weekend as a £250,000 upgrade of the Standing Stane Road gets under way.
Fife Council apologised for any inconvenience caused by the project, which starts on Monday and will take place between the hours of 7pm and 6am.
The work is scheduled to be complete on June 9.
David Brown, service manager for network management, said: “Almost everyone in Fife uses our roads on a daily basis, which is why this type of maintenance work is so essential.”
The work to resurface the carriageway will be carried out in three phases.
The first phase will involve work on Windygates roundabout with a junction closure on the A916 into Windygates. Temporary traffic signals will be in place, with vehicles diverted via Milton Road.
This will be followed by work on Cameron roundabout, with a junction closure on the B932 to Methilhill. Traffic will be diverted via Percival Road and Methilhaven Road.
The third phase will involve work on the A915, when there will be temporary traffic signals and a convoy system.
Stagecoach bus services 41, 41A, 44 and 49 will be redirected.

Access will be maintained for emergency services during the works, which are being carried out by Breedon Aggregates Ltd.
Mr Brown added: “We apologise for any inconvenience and delay caused by these essential works, and we’ll try to keep any disturbance to a minimum.
“Your patience and cooperation during this time is greatly appreciated.”
