Glengarry can set standard at Musselburgh
Racing: Form looks good and ground should suit Carluke raider
Keith Dalgleish is looking for a big run from GLENGARRY in the feature race at Musselburgh tonight.
The Carluke raider, partnered by Tom Eaves, faces five rivals in the £20,000 Shawbrook Bank Handicap over an extended 7f at the East Lothian venue.
“Hopefully he is still progressing and the ground should suit him,” Dalgleish said. “His form is looking pretty good and a lot of the horses he ran against last season, such as Nicholas T and Sophie P, have won again.”
Glengarry is a course-and-distance winner from last August and one of his main opponents could be the Mark Johnston-trained Thomas Cranmer, a scorer over this same trip earlier in the month.
Four-time Musselburgh winner Ralphy Boy, trained by Alistair Whillans and bred by his Cumbrian owner Frank Lowe, makes a quick reappearance after finishing a respectable sixth at Carlisle on Monday.
Dalgliesh saddles SEBASTIAN’S WISH in the Racing UK Now In HD Handicap. The four-year-old is unbeaten in two starts since joining current connections and he has been raised 8lb for his latest success over this same 1m 6f trip, a race that has seen runner-up Jonny Delta go one better.
In the concluding Pay For Racing UK Via Phone Bill Handicap, 2015 hero CYFLYMDER bids to land the same race again, this time off a 6lb lower mark for trainer David Griffiths.
RAHEEN HOUSE has the tools to do some damage in the EBF Stallions Cocked Hat Stakes at Goodwood.
This one-mile-three-furlong contest has served as a Derby trial in days gone by and while Raheen House has no Epsom pretensions, victory here could put him firmly in the mix for next month’s ‘Ascot Derby’ – otherwise known at the King Edward VII Stakes.
QUEEN OF TIME kicked off her campaign with victory on the Sussex Downs at the start of the month and can go in again in the Brenda Hamilton Fillies’ Handicap. SELECTIONS GOODWOOD: 2.00 Mother Of Dragons, 2.35 War Whisper, 3.10 Queen Of Time, 3.45 RAHEEN HOUSE (NAP), 4.20 Melodic Motion, 4.55 Mazzini, 5.25 Jashma.
MUSSELBURGH: 6.40 Star Ascending, 7.10 Cheerfilly, 7.40 Storm Cry, 8.10 Purple Rock, 8.40 Rey Loopy, 9.10 Amy Blair.
DOUBLE: Raheen House and Atty Persse.
