The East of Scotland Open Pairs competition was fished at Lintrathen Loch on Saturday and saw nine boats out and 27 fish caught for 53lb 3oz.

Meanwhile, the past month on Lintrathen has seen some excellent fishing.

Dave Moncur caught the heaviest fish so far for club members at 6lb 4oz from the top end of the loch.

Balbeggie AC’s S Godfrey landed a 6lb 10oz fish, caught off the Dam Wall on a viva.

Barry Robertson and Alan Ramshaw, on their first weekend league outing, weighed in four for 8lb 8oz and four for 8lb 14oz respectively with 30+ returned.

The loch has again been restocked with over 500 fish over the past two weeks and green and black flies are still producing best results.

With the weather conditions varying throughout the week at MONIKIE and CROMBIE, the successful methods for catching varied from floating lines with dries through to DI-5 with blobs and lures.

The most successful flies last week were buzzers, blobs, cormorants and yellow dancers.

With bright sunshine and then a flat calm conditions weren’t perfect for Friday’s Stewart Brymner Trophy, but with fish rising all over the pond a great challenging night of fishing was had.

Winner was Dave Simpson, who kept two and returned seven. Second place went to Jim Strachan who kept two and returned four.

A few bigger fish came off last week with Duncan Inglis having a cracker of 4lb 12oz off the Island Pond while Harold Lewis had a lovely 3lb 12oz fish off the North Pond.

Considering the changeable weather and wind, fishing at FRANDY FISHERY has been good.

George Mooney and Brian Moore (Callander) kept 10 fish weighing 22lb and released a further six; Bob Roger (Kirkcaldy), four for 8lb and released two; Alan Wake (Kirkcaldy), three, 6lb 6oz, released three; William Thomson (Auchterarder) and Ian Mitchell (Pitlochry), 10 fish, 22lb and released five; Dave Gonsales and Jim Watson (Auchtermuchty), 10 fish, 20lb, released 10; George Keith and Tam Lansdown (Dunfermline), eight, 16lb; Joe Brown and Andy Young (Dunfermline), nine for 20lb.

The best flies included the Kate Maclaren, green peter snatchers, sedge muddler, sedgehogs and cormorants.

Lots of fly life is hatching at ORCHILL so there has been great sport on top of the water.

Perthshire Fishing Club had a good night taking 20 fish for 49lb 8oz with Bill Parnell having three.
