Trust award for disabled support
Fife Sports and Leisure Trust has been recognised for its work in supporting access to sports for people with a disability.
The Trust was named partner organisation of the year by Disability Sport Fife when it was presented with the David Thomson Trophy by the body, which supports sport for children, athletes and players of all ages and abilities with a physical, sensory or learning disability.
The award marks a long partnership between Fife Sports and Leisure Trust and Disability Sport Fife, which delivers activity sessions weekly across Fife at its facilities.
The Trust’s operations manager Scott Urquhart said: “To be named partner organisation of the year is a real privilege for the Trust and we are pleased that our partnership allows people with disability to use our facilities, enjoy the benefits of physical activity and to develop and train for their sport.”
In introducing the presentation, Disability Sport Fife president Richard Brickley paid tribute to all Trust staff members.
He said: “The Trust is deserving of the award for the level and quality of support provided to DSF members across Fife in 14 of its facilities.
“The annually agreed service level agreement between the two organisations has led to many cooperative practices and programmes that benefit Disability Sport Fife members across Fife.”
