Bold vision no longer just in imagination

-

The first images of the bright new vision for a dedicated paediatric unit at Ninewells Hospital cannot fail to capture the imagination. The vivid colours and family-friendly design are perfectly suited to putting youngsters at their ease when they go through the potential trauma of a hospital visit.

It is exactly what was promised when fundraising began for the unit and The Courier has been proud to back the ARCHIE Foundation in its endeavours.

So too have the people of Tayside and Fife, who have eagerly embraced the vision of those who realised the need for a significant upgrade in children’s services.

That was no more evident than last summer when crowds flocked to Dundee to take part in the innovative Oor Wullie Bucket Trail.

Without the near-£900,000 that venture secured thanks to its climactic auction of the now-iconic figures, the project would be much further from fruition.

Money-raising is continuing as the charity tries to secure its £2 million contribution and businesses, trusts and the general public will be called upon to offer further help.

Being able to see exactly what they are funding thanks to the images published by The Courier today – and the flythrough video available on our website – will surely help swell the coffers and make this bold project a reality for the good of the children and families of Tayside and Fife.
