Falkland alive with the sound of traditional music this weekend

-

Musicians are tuning up in preparation for this year’s Falkland Traditional Music Festival.

Starting on Friday evening with a ceilidh, the event promises a celebration of music through concerts, competitions and workshops.

On Saturday morning, Colin Dewar will be running an accordion workshop, while the afternoon will see a series of accordion, fiddle, and singing competitions to bring the Lomond Hills alive with the sound of music.

A fiddle masterclass with Carole Anderson on Sunday morning will act as a prelude to the event’s farewell concert at 2.30pm.
