Blue Brazil boost as Brown stays on as assistant boss

-

Cowdenbeath have confirmed that Billy Brown will remain as the club’s assistant manager next season.

The 66-year-old joined the Blue Brazil in March, teaming up with former protege Gary Locke following the departure of Liam Fox. The duo steered the Fifers to League Two safety, defeating East Kilbride on penalties following a fraught relegation play-off last month.

Brown even returned from a holiday in Magaluf to take his place in the dugout for the second leg against Kilby at Central Park.

With Locke committing to Cowden for the 2017/18 campaign last week, ex-Hearts and Bradford No 2 Brown has now followed suit.

First-team coach Neil Irvine, who was also brought in by Locke, has departed the club due to work commitments.
