Man admits domestic assaults
A Fife man has been sentenced for assaults on his former partner.
Appearing in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court was Jake Adamson, 19, who now lives in Foulford Road, Cowdenbeath.
He previously admitted that between May 1 and 18, at an address in Stewart Street, Townhill, he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner.
The charge stated that he repeatedly kicked and banged on a door, demanded entry to the premises, repeatedly shouted and swore and threw a mobile phone at his partner.
He also admitted that between May 1 and 18 at the same address in Townhill he assaulted his partner by repeatedly punching her on her body to her injury. Adamson pleaded guilty to a further charge that on May 18, at the same address, he assaulted his partner by repeatedly striking her on the head, lay on top of her and pinned her to a bed and struggled with her to her injury.
Defence solicitor Gwenn Haggerty said her client was in employment as a kitchen porter and the relationship was now at an end.
The court heard Adamson already had a conviction for a similar domestic offence.
Sheriff Craig McSherry imposed a community payback order with 140 hours of unpaid work.
Adamson will also take part in the domestic offenders group work programme.
