Signposting to the countryside gets people in the great outdoors
A two-year project to signpost public paths and rights of way in and around Freuchie has been completed.
The scheme, devised and implemented by Freuchie Community Council, waymarks walking and cycling routes, encouraging local people and visitors to explore the Fife countryside.
No fewer than 37 individual finger signs have been installed. As well as the paths in and around Freuchie, locations signposted include the Lomond Hills, Lathrisk and Muirhead.
The project has been funded by Fife Council’s Community Planning Budget, the Paths for All charity, and by the community council. Community councillor Patrick Laughlin said: “The health and wellbeing benefits of walking and cycling are widely recognised.”
