Brechin open with trip to Palmerston
Brechin City will begin life in the Championship with a trip to Dumfries to face Queen of the South.
Darren Dods’ side, who came through the play-offs to reach the second tier, then host last season’s League One champions Livingston before making the short trip to Tannadice to take on title favourites Dundee United.
The Tangerines open with an away game against Inverness Caley Thistle, who were relegated from the Premiership, on August 5.
Ray McKinnon’s side then have two home games, with Queen of the South and then Brechin the visitors.
Dunfermline travel to Livingston on the opening day before welcoming Inverness and then rivals Falkirk to East End Park.
Dick Campbell’s League 2 champions start their League 1 campaign when Queen’s Park come to Gayfield, while Forfar, who were pipped for the title by their Angus rivals but then earned promotion through the playoffs, are also at home on August 5, against Airdrieonians.
The first Angus derby of the season goes ahead at Station Park on Saturday September 16.
Raith Rovers’ bid to bounce back after relegation from the Championship begins with a visit to one of manager Barry Smith’s former teams, Alloa Athletic.
The Kirkcaldy club’s first Fife derby of the league season comes on August 26 when they visit East Fife.
Darren Young’s Fifers visit Stranraer on the first day of the season.
In League 2, Cowdenbeath, who survived a pyramid play-off final scare with a penalty shoot-out win over East Kilbride in May, visit Elgin City on day one.
Montrose open their campaign with a trip to Edinburgh City.
The Links Park side recovered from a poor start to last season to reach the promotion play-offs and will hope to mount a challenge again under Stewart Petrie.
