‘Tae sup’ to return this autumn

-

Following a successful spring season, James Yorkston’s Tae Sup Wi’ A Fifer Saturday gig social will return to the Adam Smith Theatre in Kirkcaldy for a run of shows this autumn.

Taking place on September 16, November 25 and December 2, the East Neuk folk maverick’s carefully curated line-up will be headlined by Scottish indie stalwarts The Vaselines, Radiohead’s Philip Selway and the cryptically monikered Ol’ Crabbit John, respectively.

Organised with support from Creative Scotland and ONFife, each show features three varied and complimentary talents from the world of contemporary folk music and spoken word performance.

Tae Sup began in 2015, when Mr Yorkston was invited to programme live music and spoken word nights for the Adam Smith Theatre.

The evening quickly developed a reputation for its diverse line-ups and laid back nature, with sets by Steve Mason, Dick Gaughan, Karine Polwart, Richard Dawson, Lisa O’Neill, Aidan O’Rourke and Bill Wells.

A second season in spring 2016 featured the likes of Martin Carthy, Alexis Taylor, Linton Kwesi Johnson, Kathryn Joseph and Malcolm Middleton, before a sell-out Christmas special in December 2016 headlined by King Creosote and a further successful programme earlier this year.

Tickets for the forthcoming shows, priced £15, are available at the Adam Smith Theatre.
