A stylish Limousin heifer and her seven-month-old calf walked away with the champion-of-champions title at Doune and Dunblane Show.

The duo came from Douglas and Linda Graham, Mains of Burnbank, Blair Drummond.

The heifer, Burnbank Jojo, and her calf, Burnbank Miss Ellie, were fresh from the Royal Highland Show where they won a first prize.

They also won this year’s interbreed award at Gargunnock and last season Jojo was reserve champion at Doune and Dunblane.

In reserve place for the cross species honour was the Clydesdale champion, 10-year-old Westbank Ruby Tuesday, from Kevin Wilson, Blackford.

In-foal Ruby Tuesday, a daughter of Doura Above All and Westbank Miss Dynamite, also won a championship at Gargunnock earlier in the year.

Also in the running for the top award was the interbreed sheep champion, a two-crop Suffolk ewe by Cairnorrie Olympic Bolt and out of Cairnorrie Campbell, from R Bryce, Chalmerston Farm, Stirling.

Reserve interbreed cattle champion was the Charolais heifer Falleninch Lottie, from Andrew Hornell at Stirling.

She too was at the Royal Highland Show where she won the breed’s reserve junior female championship.

The sheep reserve interbreed honour went to the Texel from Robert Cockburn, from Hill of Errol, Perth. His champion, a one-crop ewe by Ettrick Vital Spark, was shown for the first time.
