Loons sign Millar and See – but Swankie set to depart
Forfar Athletic have sealed a deal to take former Dundee United midfielder Mark Millar to Station Park.
The former Tannadice midfielder helped Livingston win the League 1 title last season but will wear the Loons’ colours during the next campaign after putting pen to paper on Saturday.
Millar spent the 2012-13 with United but left to join former club Falkirk on loan.
The 29-year-old began his career at Celtic and went on to play for Hungarian outfit Ujpest, Falkirk, United, Peterhead and Queen of the South before moving to Livi in January. Millar made three appearances for the Scotland U19s earlier in his career and has also played for the U21s.
The Loons have also signed the highly-rated striker Ousman See from Edinburgh City.
The 22-year-old joined City two years ago from Selkirk and impressed Bollan when the Loons came up against the SPFL new boys last season.
A compensation payment has been agreed between the clubs to facilitate the move.
Meanwhile skipper Gavin Swankie has been placed on the transfer list after walking out on the club despite having a year left on his contract.
The Station Park side have not seen the 33-year-old – who has made more than 195 appearances for the Loons – since they returned to pre-season training and have been advised that he no longer wishes to play for them.
Other clubs have been notified that Forfar are willing to listen to offers for the ex-Arbroath, Dundee and St Johnstone attacker who has been with them for five years.
A club spokesperson said: “Sadly Gavin has intimated to club officials that he no longer wishes to play for the club and he has to date refused to train with his colleagues.
“It is a disappointing scenario that looks to have brought his stay at Station Park to a premature end and reluctantly the club have agreed to listen to offers for his services.”
