Services directory launched
Fife Voluntary Action has launched an online directory of employability services across the region.
Developed with support from Opportunities Fife Partnership, it contains details of more than 60 projects and organisations which provide support to people looking to get into work across Fife.
It is open to everyone and designed to be easy to use.
Those looking for work can use the directory in a number of ways. They can search for the kind of support they are looking for under the categories general, young people, health problems and disabilities, sector skills and other.
Searches can also be carried out by organisation, geography or project name.
There are links where different services are provided by the same organisation, as well as information on employer recruitment incentives available in Fife.
Gordon MacDougall, who chairs the Opportunities Fife Partnership, said: “With around 14,000 people economically inactive but wanting a job in Fife we need to ensure people are getting the support they need, when they need it.”
Paul Murray, from Venture Trust, said: “I have used the paper directory a lot when meeting up with participants after they have been away on a course with us and thinking about next steps.
“I wish there was something like it for other areas,” added Mr Murray.
