The Windsors (Channel 4, 10pm10.30pm)

There was a time that poking fun at royalty would have been a hanging offence, but these days anything goes in the name of satire. After all, when Spitting Image pushed the art of lampooning to new highs (some might say lows) in the 1980s and 1990s, shows like this seem pretty mild by comparison. Connecting the two is Harry Enfield, who thankfully can be heard as well as seen in this show. For newcomers, it’s a comedy soap opera about Britain’s most famous family. In the latest offering, Harry (Richard Goulding) buys a nightclub and asks Kate (Louise Ford) to be the DJ. But who will they get as door staff?

Gardeners’ World (BBC2, 9pm-10pm)

Monty Don gives advice on how to prune flowering shrubs, makes plans for autumn flowers and returns to Dublin to find out how Helen Dillon is progressing in her new garden. Joe Swift shows how good design should not be hindered by challenging conditions and Rachel de Thame explores the role of scent in wild flowers.

Love Your Garden (STV, 8pm-9pm)

Joanna Lumley’s India (STV, 9pm-10pm)
