Sharper start should see Dubara home

TIPS: Cumani’s hope can make amends after slow break left her too much to do

- The FerreT

DUBARA can atone for an unexpected defeat last time out by winning the 188Bet Handicap at Yarmouth.

The three-year-old was stepping up to 10 furlongs for the first time at Salisbury, having previously run up to a mile, but she hindered her chances when breaking slowly and was left in last place.

Admittedly, when Dubara made her move, it appeared to be a promising run but having given her six rivals a bit of a start, Luca Cumani’s charge ran out of gas in the dying strides.

She was eventually beaten threequarters of a length and a 4lb hike for that run is possibly fair as she did make up a chunk of ground.

Cumani steps back a furlong in trip here, but given a sharper start, Dubara has the ability to make her mark.

WORKING CLASS is worth a wager in the Read Silvestre De Sousa At 188Bet Median Auction Maiden Stakes.

Peter Chapple-Hyam’s charge made a favourable impression when fifth on his racecourse bow at the back-end of last year but he did not actually make the track again until reappearing at Salisbury two weeks ago.

Gelded in the interim, Working Class turned in an eyecatching effort in finishing third, albeit beaten six lengths by See Of Rome.

Working Class was just found out for race fitness, being edged out for second in the shadow of the post.

The Bahri colt has enough about him to win an event like this before switching to the handicapping route.

PROJECT BLUEBOOK catches the eye as he returns to the Flat in the Turmeric Handicap at Catterick.

The four-year-old has been performing with credit over hurdles for John Quinn, finishing fourth in the Fred Winter at Cheltenham before going on to Grade Two glory at Fairyhouse.

He was no slouch on the Flat last year, either, winning three times, and his rating of 80 could prove to be quite lenient with the trip holding few fears. SELECTIONS:
