Chelsea agree terms with Real for striker Álvaro Morata
Chelsea have agreed terms with Real Madrid for the transfer of Spanish international striker Álvaro Morata.
The 24-year-old, who helped Real to the Champions League title last season, is still to agree personal terms and pass a medical before the move is officially confirmed.
The Blues stepped up their bid for Morata after another potential transfer target, Romelu Lukaku, opted instead to join Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.
Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster has signed a new five-year contract with the club.
The 29-year-old’s previous deal was not due to expire until 2021, but he has now committed himself to the club for a further year.
Forster moved to St Mary’s in 2014 after a successful spell with Celtic, and has gone on to make 103 appearances for the club.
He was first called up to Roy Hodgson’s England squad in 2012 and made his international debut one year later in a friendly against Chile at Wembley.
Newcastle have announced the signing of winger Jacob Murphy from Norwich for an undisclosed fee.
The Magpies had an increased offer for Murphy accepted on Tuesday, reported to be £12.5 million, and the England under-21 international has now become their third summer signing.
Juventus have completed the signing of goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny from Arsenal.
Szczesny, 27, spent the last two seasons on loan with Juve’s Serie A rivals Roma but has now agreed to compete with the veteran Gianluigi Buffon for the gloves at the Allianz Stadium.
The fee is £10 million for a player who made almost 200 appearances for Arsenal.
Leicester City have signed goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic from Hull City on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
