PLAY DAY:

Fife Council’s education and children’s services are hosting a free play day event in Dunfermlin­e’s Pittencrie­ff Park.

The Wednesday August 2 event, which will run from noon to 3pm, will feature a range of fun activities including sports and games, arts and crafts, messy and sensory play, a treasure hunt, family adventure walks, urban ranger activities, woodland walks and bicycle rides. GLENROTHES:

Emergency services were called to a Glenrothes supermarke­t on Wednesday evening following reports of a person in distress.

The incident took place at the Aldi store on Fullerton Road, which was closed as the person was treated. COFFEE MORNING:

Cupar in Bloom is holding a coffee morning from 9.45am to 11am tomorrow in the Corn Exchange. There will be a variety of stalls on offer. FINE ARTS:

Following its annual meeting and final talk for the season on Effie Gray: the model wife? Fife Decorative and Fine Arts Society is having a break over the summer.

As part of fundraisin­g activities towards free Christmas parties for local primary school children and senior citizens in December, a Stars in their Eyes show will be held in the Bowhill Hotel, Cardenden, on Sunday from 2 to 5.30pm.

Those taking to the stage will belt out songs from Patsy Cline, Frank Sinatra, Adele and Roy Orbison among others. Compere will be Fife’s top master of ceremonies Jim Paul. FUN CRICKET:

The annual Gilvenbank Hotel Fun Cricket Sixes will take place at 11am on Sunday.

The last of four joint services being held by Glenrothes churches will take place on Sunday at Leslie Trinity, Leslie High Street, at 10.30am.
