Tennis tournament nets funds

-

Scottish Autism took centre court at Fife Housing Group as colleagues began fundraising for their chosen charity of the year with a tennis tournament.

The call of “anyone for tennis?” was answered by 30 people, including the group’s chief executive Nicki Donaldson.

Less energetic staff could still take part by buying strawberries and cream available for spectators, helping to net more than £110 for Scottish Autism.

Despite going out in the first round, Ms Donaldson said she loved taking part.

“This was a really fun event which gave everyone the opportunity to join in during their lunch breaks, get some exercise and raise money.”

Scottish Autism was nominated as Fife Housing Group’s charity of the year by housing officer Stephanie McCulloch, whose son is autistic.

She said: “Scottish Autism provides invaluable emotional and practical support to families like mine at times when they need it the most and I’m delighted that my colleagues at Fife Housing Group have chosen them as our charity of the year.”

Fran Miele, corporate fundraiser at Scottish Autism, said she was delighted to be working with the group to raise funds and awareness.

“We have lots of services throughout Fife so receiving support from local businesses is invaluable and really makes a difference to people’s lives,” she said.
