Good Samaritan left bleeding

-

A Good Samaritan who went to the aid of a man being attacked in Perth was left with a bloody nose after he was assaulted himself.

Chris Buszek was repeatedly punched in the head by Fife man Ryan Allan.

Depute fiscal Lisa Marshall told the city’s sheriff court: “The complainer and the accused are not known to each other.

“At around 7pm the complainer had gone to the city centre with friends.

“The complainer left Christie’s Bar at around 10.30pm and was making his way to South Street to catch a bus home.

“He became aware of an injured man who was being attacked and went over to help him.

“He was struck by the accused, who was seen to repeatedly punch Mr Buszek, causing him to fall to the ground. Mr Buszek was bleeding from the nose and had bruising to the face.”

She added that he was checked over by paramedics but did not need to go to hospital.

His defence agent said Allan had been drinking on the day of the incident.

He said: “He was in town and had drunk to excess.”

At Perth Sheriff Court, Allan admitted that while acting with another he assaulted Mr Buszek by repeatedly punching him in the head to his injury on Perth’s South Street on December 10 last year. Sheriff Lindsay Foulis fined Allan, 26, of High Street, Cupar, £800.
