FINE ARTS: Following its annual meeting and final talk for the season on Effie Gray: the model wife?, Fife Decorative and Fine Arts Society is having a break for the summer.
It will start its 2017-18 series on Tuesday September 12 when the talk will be about Maria Sibella Merion, artist, adventurer and scientist. FUN DAY AT KINBURN PARK: Kinburn Park, St Andrews, is the place to be today as the bowling club hosts its annual fun day for all ages.
For the very young, there are soft bowls, for the slightly older there are lightweight bowls and standard bowls for those who want them.
The fun starts at 10am and will finish around lunchtime, with stalls for home baking, a raffle and tea, coffee, bacon or sausage in rolls and lots of other goodies. FOLK CLUB: Dunfermline Folk Club at the Monarch Bar is hosting a session night on Wednesday.
Come along and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, share a story or a song, play a tune, or just sit back and be inspired by some home grown talent.
Entry is free and more information is available from www. dunfermlinefolkclub.co.uk. PRESERVATION TRUST: St Andrews Preservation Trust Museum was the setting for A Deadly Dilemma, thanks to the St Andrews Play Club and Red Wine Productions.
Both groups are staging further events this year.
Red Wine will present The Wit and Humour of Alan Bennett at Crail Festival on Tuesday and the Play Club will be offering Travels with my Aunt in the Byre in November. CLASSICAL GUITAR: St Andrews Preservation Trust is promoting an evening with world-renowned classical guitarist Antonio de Innocentis in its museum on North Street, St Andrews, on Saturday July 29.
Tickets priced £14 including refreshments can be bought from the museum curator on 01334 477629.
This is planned as an outdoor event in the trust’s beautiful revamped garden.
