Celebrating 100 years of the Rural

-

The founding of the “Rural” 100 years ago is reflected by the community themes for the SWI marquee at this year’s Kinross Show.

The event takes place on Saturday at Vane Farm and the themes for the handicrafts and the housewives section focus on “celebration”.

The ladies of Kinross Group SWI are busy preparing their entries for both the community and individual competitions and there will be a display from members of crafts, needlework, baking, produce and floral art.

There will also be entries from husbands and partners and from the children and grandchildren of members.

A number of classes are again being sponsored by local businesses and individuals.

“We are very grateful for their continued support,” said a spokeswoman.

Sponsors are McTaggart’s of Aberdour, Robert and Gillian Bell, Robert Craig Joinery, Roddy Baird, Kilted Farming Company, Loch Leven’s Larder, Hattonburn House and John and Helen Buchanan.

There will be baking, produce and craft goods for sale and a tombola.

Trophies will be presented by Kinross Show president Andy Marshall and his wife Nicky.

The raffle will be drawn for the first prize of £50 and other prizes.

There is no entry charge for the marquee, which will be open from 10am to 4pm, but donations at the door will be welcome.
