Dapper looks tailor-made for Pontefract

RACING: John Davies’ six-year-old is on a hat-trick of wins

IM DAPPER TOO has been in solid form of late and there is no reason why he should not be thereabouts once more in division one of the Bet With Jayne – Your Local Bookmaker Handicap at Pontefract.

Trained by John Davies, the six-yearold is on a hat-trick after two wins at Carlisle and was in fact second in this race two years ago.

He is 10lb higher in the weights these days but is running as well as ever, sticking on in determined fashion last time out.

ICEFALL can be followed in the tiesplanet.com – Ladies Love Guys In Ties Handicap.

The four-year-old’s three wins have come over this trip of a mile and a half, and with that in mind his reappearance run over an inadequate 10 furlongs at Ripon was not without some promise, coming as it did on the back of a 276day break.

Tim Easterby’s charge only beat one home, but was caught a bit flatfooted half a mile out and not given an overly hard time of it in the closing stages once his winning chance had gone.

That will have blown away the cobwebs, though, and, back up in trip, he is only 4lb higher than his last winning mark.

ADMIRABLE ART is operating at a career-high mark but might have something to offer in the Hobgoblin Brighton Mile Challenge Trophy Handicap.

In his favour is the fact he is twice a course and distance winner, both times under Adam Kirby, who takes the mount again.

One or two decent yards are represented in the Bombardier EBF Novice Stakes, where Ed Dunlop’s TADLEEL sets the standard. SELECTIONS: BRIGHTON: 1.50 Haveoneyerself, 2.30 Tadleel, 2.50 Eugenic, 3.20 Admirable Art, 3.50 Finale, 4.20 Buzz Lightyere, 4.50 Whiteley, 5.20 The Special One.
