The 10th annual Kingdom FM Local Hero Awards are just around the corner, and the countdown is now on to see who the big winners will be on the night. The awards honour the inspirational work and contributions that unsung individuals, businesses, schools and voluntary organisations make to the Fife community and beyond all year round, culminating in an awards dinner and ceremony at the Rothes Halls in Glenrothes.

This year’s event will take place on Friday August 25 and the Kingdom FM Local Hero Awards has cemented its place as one of the most prestigious award dates on the calendar – having hosted more than 3,500 guests, including hundreds of nominees and in more than 150 award winners over the last decade.

Nominations for the 2017 awards closed at the end of April, and it’s fair to say organisers were overwhelmed by the quality and number of entries across all categories.

However, the judges have come up with shortlists for all the awards up for grabs, and it is now only a matter of time before we all know who has scooped a sought-after gong.

“Every year I’m amazed and humbled by the nominations we receive for our Local Hero Awards,” said Kingdom FM station manager Darren Stenhouse.

“To be part of this annual event, now in its 10th year, is a real honour.”

Kingdom FM’s 10th Local Hero Awards are supported by Paint Tec Accident Repair Centre, Gym Sixty-Four, Pentland Landrover Cupar, GIA Business Properties Ltd, Forth Ports, The Courier and Owen Buchanan Builders and Skips.
