Bain misses out but Peters back on loan

It is a case of one out and one in for Forfar when they take on Albion Rovers at Station Park this afternoon.

Jamie Bain misses out after an appeal against the suspension he picked up for being sent off at Raith Rovers last weekend was unsuccessful.

However, Josh Peters, part of last season’s successful promotion-winning squad, has returned on loan from Livingston.

Bain’s controversial dismissal galvanised Forfar last weekend and they looked set to grab a 1-1 draw until Raith struck twice in the final six minutes to see them off.

Bollan said: “From 37 minutes to 84 minutes the players we had on the park were absolutely terrific.

“They responded really well to the set-back of Jamie’s sending off and were holding their own against a fulltime side tipped for the title.

“Our standard of play reached a high level against Ayr the week before and we got to that level again for most of the game at Kirkcaldy.

“We now have to see that in every game.”

The Coatbridge side have also been upset by officialdom this week with their place in next weekend’s Irn-Bru Cup second round against Linfield taken from them after they fielded an ineligible player in their first-round win over Spartans.

Bollan said: “Rovers will be coming here hurt by the past week.

“They will not have enjoyed at all losing in their local derby against Airdrie last weekend, and getting removed from the Irn-Bru Cup will have been a low blow.

“That will make our job of winning all the more difficult.”

Bain is the only absentee.
