Caledonian Marts in Stirling sold 206 cattle comprising 134 bullocks, heifers and young bulls and 72 cast cows and bulls. Bullocks sold to 250ppkg for a Limousin from Todhall, Cupar and to £1,772 gross for a Charolais from South Flanders, Kippen. Heifers to 250ppkg for a Limousin from Moorfield, Kilmarnock and to £1,621 for a Limousin from Brockwoodlees, Canonbie. Young bulls to 205ppkg for a Limousin from Flemington, Cambuslang and to a whopping £1,782 from Bogside, Newmains. Leading prices: Bullocks ppkg – 245p Todhall; 242p Bankhead (Kerr) and Brockwoodlees. Heifers ppkg – 248p Bankhead; 242p and 242p Moorfield and Brockwoodlees. Also forward were 72 cast cows. Beef cows ave 128ppkg selling to 157.4p from Drumelzier, Denny and to £1,360 from North Woodend, Bonnybridge. Bulls sold to 129.5ppkg and to £1,380 from 42 Forthview, Mannerston. Dairy cows ave 103ppkg sellng to 141.7p from Dalfoil, Balfron and to £1,050 from Carneil, Carnock.
