Excellence inspiration for girls at Kilgraston

-

Kilgraston is a dynamic boarding and day school which offers a world-class education that is both academic and personal for girls aged 5 to 18.

Set in 54 acres of stunning parkland in rural Perthshire, Kilgraston offers security and space to grow and develop while providing a tranquil environment for the girls to concentrate without distraction.

In 2017, Kilgraston celebrated another excellent set of examination results.

At Higher, 55% of passes were awarded an A grade and 83% A/B grades against a national average of 54%.

Emily Dark, Lower Sixth (S5), at the age of 16 has played for the Scotland Under-21s hockey team this year and achieved five A grades in her Highers.

Daisy Fonicello, who became Scottish fencing champion this year, also achieved five straight A grades.

In the Upper Sixth, 100% of Kilgraston’s girls gained a place at their chosen university.

Kilgraston has again sent a large proportion of pupils to study STEM subjects at undergraduate level including medicine, environmental geoscience, astrophyiscs and aviation to mention a few.

What is equally impressive is the breadth of subjects the girls have gone on to study at wide range of universities: English, French, Spanish, German, law, philosophy, politics and textile design.

Offering day and boarding education, Kilgraston has something to inspire every young woman.

It is a school with traditional values but with a modern and forward-looking perspective on education.

Education is not just about exam success; developing interest and talents, nurturing an understanding of different cultures and emphasising ones’ personal responsibility as global citizens are vital.

As such, a Kilgraston girl benefits from a wealth of opportunities to extend and enrich her educational experience.

It offers more than 50 extra-curricular activities, and enjoys modern, state-of-theart facilities including a science centre, sixth form study centre, excellent boarding accommodation, 25m swimming pool, allweather astroturf pitches and Scotland’s only school equestrian centre.

Families are invited to attend Kilgraston’s first open day of the academic year on Saturday September 30 from 11am to 2pm.
