Windfarm funding for groups

-

Community groups in the areas of Cowdenbeath, Crossgates and Mossgreen, and Hill of Beath are being invited to apply for the next round of the Mossmorran Wind Farm Ltd Community Fund.

Groups providing activities or services in the area are invited to apply before the deadline of October 6.

The fund is provided by the owner and operator of Mossmorran Wind Farm and is managed by Foundation Scotland.

Rachel Searle-Mbullu from Foundation Scotland said: “This fund provides a great opportunity for local groups to turn an idea into a reality.

“We know that many groups have the ideas to enhance their work, but don’t have the financial resources to make it happen.

“Hopefully this fund will change this and inspire those groups to apply.”

Groups can apply for funding through the Foundation Scotland website.

The Mossmorran Wind Farm Ltd Community Fund is a charitable fund to support community groups which benefit residents in the community council areas of Cowdenbeath, Crossgates and Mossgreen and Hill of Beath.

An annual amount will be paid into it for the operating lifetime of the windffarm.

This amount started at £14,000 last year and will rise in line with inflation each year.

The fund will be available as long as the windfarm operates.
