This was a battle that Frankie and I never envisaged we would have to take on. We have got through it and, at the end of the day, to hear the First Minister saying she is going to fully implement Frank’s Law was an incredible feeling.

Not just for Frankie but all the under65s in Scotland. These are the people I’ve been battling for and I’m sure, like me, there will be a lot of happy people in Scotland, whose voices were being ignored. The discrimination had to stop.

I am very pleased the Scottish Government is saying they will deliver Frank’s Law for the under-65s, but we need a date.

They need to tell us they are going to implement it sooner rather than later.

I take my hat off to The Courier, who have supported us from day one, and Frank’s Army, who have stood side-byside with me. There are so many people who have made this day possible.

I look back to when Frankie scored that winning goal against Anderlecht and I’m sure he’ll be watching now and saying ‘look what we did Amanda’.

I have kept my promise to Frankie. He said to me ‘it’s too late for me but it’s going to help other people in the future’.

It has been a very bitter-sweet day for me because the one person I wanted to celebrate with is not here.

But I know he is with me in spirit and his heart will always be with me.

He is the one I would have loved to have said: Frankie, we did it son. We did it for the people of Scotland.
