More details have emerged of Dundee FC’s proposed new stadium if the club’s move from Dens Park is allowed.

The Courier revealed earlier this week how the Dark Blues have a new crematorium and hotel in their sights if a new stadium on land near Camperdown Park is built.

A housing development and an extension to Dundee Ice Arena are also being considered.

Designs drawn up by city architects Leadingham Jameson Rogers and Hynd reveal the club’s board hope to install a bridge to connect a 100-room hotel to the proposed 15,000 seat stadium.

A club museum, as well as bars and restaurants, are also being considered, along with a club shop, gym and creche.

In addition, drawings reveal plans for 140 homes and 62 apartments to the north of the stadium.

Architects have also put forward plans to improve access to the site and for new parking.

Dundee manager Neil McCann has already said he would relish the proposed move.

The Dark Blues boss said: “We’ve got brilliant plans which are going to be so exciting for not just the club but the whole city.

“I believe these plans are the right ones if we want to have the mentality of being a top club.”

Dundee fans chief Kenny Ross the plans have left him “excited”.

Mr Ross, a club historian and president of the Dundee Supporters Association, said he believes the club is looking to follow in the footsteps of other Scottish teams by taking advantage of commercial opportunities.

A public consultation on the plans has been arranged to take place at Dundee Ice Arena on Friday.

The event will be held between 1pm and 8pm when members of the public will have the opportunity to review preliminary drawings and talk to representatives involved in the project to find out more about the site. said
