Reaction to terror attack a credit to UK

-

Yet again headlines are being dominated by a terrorist atrocity carried out on British soil. The detonation of a bomb on a packed London Underground train has all the hallmarks of the kinds of cowardly attacks carried out by groups such as ISIS.

As “urgent inquiries” into the incident began, it was interesting to note the reaction of many local people.

Across West London there were reports of residents fastening signs to their front doors, inviting anyone affected to come in if they needed anything ranging from a comfort break to cups of tea and coffee.

One restaurant laid on free pizza for emergency service workers, while others shared mobile phones as distraught relatives attempted to make contact with loved ones.

Such a reaction could not be more at odds with the behaviour of those responsible for the bombing.

While the perpetrators attempt to spread fear and hatred, each fresh atrocity sparks a wave of compassion in the communities most intimately affected.

Last night Prime Minister Theresa May condemned those responsible for the latest London attack, branding them cowardly.

Her views are shared by all right-minded individuals across the UK and indeed further afield.

Whatever their sordid intentions, those who intend to destroy our way of life by peddling hate will never triumph — love will continue to defeat fear.
