League and cup ties dominate agenda

-

This weekend will be a daunting one for many teams with a full set of league fixtures today and the first round of all cups on tomorrow.

Grove Menzieshill have a real test in the league away to Grange but have home advantage over Watsonians in the Scottish Cup tomorrow.

For Dundee Wanderers, the venues are reversed with a home game against Hillhead tomorrow and away to Gordonians on Sunday. A cup tie at Gordonians may not be easy but Wanderers should win through.

Perthshire made a great start with their 7-3 win over Granite City Wanderers but they cannot expect such a straightforward win away to Gordonians. Another real test awaits on Sunday at home to Glasgow University.

Harris look to have it all to do again this season and if St Andrews University have anything like the team they had last season then Harris will be stretched. Then it’s Inverness tomorrow.

Monarchs and ESM both had narrow wins on the first day so they must expect a close match tomorrow.

Menzieshill II will be keen to record their first win in Central Division 1 when Uddingston II are at DISC and a second real test awaits tomorrow away to Gordonians II.

Wanderers II will hope to make a start in Central 2 at home to Hillhead III.

Wanderers II have a bye in the District Cup as do Perthshire II.

St Andrews University II travel to play Aberdeen GS II in the District Cup on Sunday after their opening Midland League match against Perthshire III.
