COWDENBEAT­H CRASH Two people were checked over by paramedics at the scene of a crash just outside Cowdenbeat­h yesterday.

The two-car accident took place at around 3pm on the A909 Cowdenbeat­h to Burntislan­d road at the top of the slip road which leads to the A92 towards Kirkcaldy.

A Police spokespers­on confirmed that neither driver suffered any serious injuries and an ambulance was called as a precaution. The road was partially blocked but traffic was able to move freely.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokespers­on added that it had been called out but said crews only assisted with traffic management.

ST ANDREWS BUSINESS CLUB People doing business in northeast Fife joined members and guests of St Andrews Business Club to hear about the latest changes in social media.

In the first open event of the club’s new season, held at the New Golf Club, Fife social and digital media consultant Pauline Randall of Florizel Media told attendees about some of the latest changes they may have missed but which could be important to the marketing of their business.

Before the event, members approved an update of the club’s constituti­on to formally recognise that its core purposes include aiding businesses operating in north-east Fife as well as those in the town.

The club’s next free event open to all is the St Andrews University Enterprise Week keynote event on October 11. Its first business breakfast of the season follows on October 25.

CREATIVE YOUNG PEOPLE A Fife-based creative project is to share in more than £3,800 from the Time to Shine Nurturing Talent Fund.

Luke Millar will use the funding to set up a tutoring programme for young musicians in Dunfermlin­e and surroundin­g areas after being named as one of 10 successful applicants to the fund, which is managed by the National Youth Arts Advisory Group for Scotland.

CONCERT A free afternoon concert with the music of Jim Thomson will start at 2pm on Tuesday in Cupar Baptist Church.
